WITHROW
Hannah “Faye” Morgan Withrow joined the rest of her family in heaven on Monday, November 9th, 2020.
The circle is now complete; all of Sam and Ada’s children have gone home. Hannah was the last surviving member of her family. She was ninth of twelve children of the late Samuel and Ada Morgan.
Hannah was born in Alderson, WV on April 2, 1926 and moved to Caldwell when she was 6 months old, when her father became the section foreman for C&O railroad from Caldwell to Hinton. Hannah grew up in Caldwell and attended the Pentecostal Holiness Church. She later moved to Lewisburg, where she has made her home for the last 31 years.
Hannah enjoyed gardening; singing with the radio, she had a beautiful alto voice; and most of all talking to all her sisters on the phone; and shopping trips with her sisters and daughter. She also liked dog sitting for her grand-dog, who loved to sit on her recliner with her.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Carl B. Withrow. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Eugene Morgan and Ada Susan Morgan; nine sisters, Marcille Kathleen Morgan, Glema Margarette Morgan, Evelee Jackson Bennett, Greta Jane Morgan, Hazel Burke Bennett, Arbutus Marie Napier, Mary Arbanna Sparks, Luetta Isabelle Bennett, and Maxine Susan Howard; two brothers, Ralph William Morgan and Eugene Samuel Morgan.
Hannah is survived by her one and only daughter, Judy Steele, and husband, Buck, of Lewisburg, a grand-dog, Kinzie, and grand-cat, Soffie; special nieces, Wanda Kirk of Covington, VA, Peggy Davis of Frankford, WV, and Shirley Hanna of Ohio; nephews, Rodney Howard of Lewisburg, Kevin Bennett of Maryland, Mark Bennett of Indiana, Gordon and Troy Nichols of Richmond, VA; and several other great nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to the staff at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center for the care she received during her last days; also to her at home caregivers, Susan Boehringer, Bertha Sears, and Darlene Graham, and the staff at The Brier Nursing Home.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 12 from 6-8 p.m. Services will be Friday, November 13 at 1 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Cemetery, Lewisburg, WV.
