ALIFF
Roscoe F. Aliff went home to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, November 10, 2020 after a long-blessed life of over ninety-five years.
Born June 5, 1925 he was the son of the late William P. and Lula Parker Aliff.
Roscoe was a veteran who served in both the Air Force and Army. He was retired from the WV Department of Highways and enjoyed being a life-long farmer. His greatest loves were his Lord, his family, and the outdoors, especially hunting and hound dogs. Roscoe was a member of the Griffith Creek Baptist Church for over sixty-five years. He loved his church and church family, where he served as a deacon, superintendent, and taught various classes.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Homer, Romeo, Edsel, and Giles; an infant brother, William; sisters, Daisy Ballengee, Luverna Maddy, Emojean Canterbury, Theda Wallace, Zeda Owens, Sirelda Clay, Lesie Toler, May Adkins; and son in law, Kevin M. Saunders.
He is left behind by the love of his life, Leanna Hope Aliff, whom he shared over sixty-seven years of marriage. He is also survived by children, Leanna Gail Ryan (Melvin), Tami L. Saunders, and Tim R. Aliff (Char); grandchildren, Lee Ryan, Rebecca Ryan (Jason Vickers), Beth Ryan, Kevin W. Saunders (Nala), and Samuel R. Aliff (Kaylee); sister in law, Sadie Jean Dotson; and his adopted family, Tim and Jeanne Luce. Roscoe had a huge extended family, including sixty-four nieces and nephews.
Services will be private for the family. The Aliff family would like to extend a special Thank You to the loving staff at “The Brier” who called Roscoe, “Popaw”.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Griffith Creek Baptist Church.
