Wayne Burton Napier (Slim) passed away peacefully on October 22, 2020 at the age 77.

Wayne is survived by his son, Ray Napier, and wife, Mindy; and three grandchildren, Kadee, Zack, and Carley. He is also survived by his daughter, Teresa Adkins; 2 grandchildren, Matt and Amanda; and great grandchildren.

Wayne is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Jean; mother, Opal Deloris; father, Pelmar Ray; and two brothers, Pelmar Massey and Forrest Lee.

Wayne was a lifelong resident of Greenbrier County. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He belonged to Kate Carpenter Muzzleloaders Club. He (PePaw) loved his family and especially his grandchildren.

He worked his entire life as a Carpenter and had many trades. At the Muzzleloader rendezvous, Wayne was known as “Slim” for all his master craftsmanship that included gun building, knife making, and scrimshaw work; and he created a lot of primitive items.

Services will be graveside. Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Greenbrier Memorial Gardens in Lewisburg, WV. Family and friends are welcome to come and celebrate his life.

McCraw Funeral Home in Lewisburg is in charge of the arrangements.
