The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department will be partnering with the Monroe County Coalition for Children and Families/FRN to participate in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, October 24.
According to a statement from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department posted on social media, “This program aims to provide a safe, convenient and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.”
The event will be held at the Monroe County Courthouse, located at 350 Main St. in Union, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. A deputy from the Monroe County Sheriff’s office will be present to assist with disposal, and provide information.
