The Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department welcomed a new deputy, Seth M. Arbaugh on Friday, October 16, 2020, when he was sworn in by The Honorable Chief Circuit Court Judge Jennifer Dent.
He was joined at the event by his wife Alissa Arbaugh, father Joseph Arbaugh, mother Heather Felts, stepfather David Felts and three of his children.
Seth Arbaugh was born and raised in Greenbrier County and is a graduate from Greenbrier West High School.
Arbaugh shared he was eager to serve the county where he resides with his family.
“I’ve always been interested in law enforcement. I’ve seen how destructive crime can be in a family and I just want to get out there and help individuals and be the best I can for Greenbrier county,” Seth Arbaugh said.
Sheriff Sloan welcomed Seth to the ranks of the sheriff’s office.
“Although he will not be allowed to work independently until completion of his academy training and field training officer period, he is certainly a welcome addition to our department and the county,” Sloan said. “We look forward to his service with the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of Greenbrier County.”
The department anticipates additional deputy sheriff hires in the near future as they attempt to address existing staffing shortages.
