Emory Gilmer Zimmerman, 73, of Copper Hill, VA, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV.
Born November 1, 1946 at Organ Cave, WV, he was a son of the late Ira and Lucy Briggs Zimmerman.
Emory attended Ronceverte High School, was a retired electrician with Rocky Dale Quarries, and was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving from 1963-1967.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four sisters, Joyce Gadd, Barbara Thacker, Joan Myers, and Betsy Boyce.
He is survived by his wife, Lenora Martini Zimmerman; two daughters, Kim Crandall and husband Ben of Pittsburgh, PA and Melissa Stankov and husband Anton of Roanoke, VA; two sons, Mike Zimmerman and wife Stephanie of Lewisburg and Ben Zimmerman and wife Kate of Floyd, VA; 11 grandchildren, Jessica, Andrew, Lindsey, Adam, Hannah, Alex, Max, Ethan, Emily, Ridge and Orrin; 3 great-grandchildren, Jamie, Palmer and Finley; also surviving is a sister, Janet Brown of Lewisburg.
Per his wishes, his body will be cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
