Joan Adele Holliday Fleshman, 80, of Alderson, WV, passed away September 3, 2020 at the Brier Nursing Home in Ronceverte. Born May 11, 1940 in Alderson, she was a daughter of the late William I. Jr. and Elizabeth Via Holliday. She was preceded in death by her brother William “Billy” Holliday.
Joan was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, homemaker, cook, and known for her homemade sourdough bread and rolls.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, James “Jim” Fleshman; sons, John W. Fleshman and wife Vickie, and James L. “Toby” Fleshman both of Alderson; two grandchildren, Natasha Ericson of Jacksonville, NC, and James Matthew Fleshman of Alderson; four great grandchildren; and one brother, John Robert Holliday and wife Carolyn of Alderson; and sister-in-law, Betty “Pete” Holliday of Alderson.
Graveside services were held Monday, September 7, 2020 at 3 p.m. at the Asbury United Methodist Chapel Cemetery in Asbury with Pastors Sam Groves and James Combs officiating. Burial followed.
