BEAVER, W.Va., (WVDN) – The New River Community and Technical College Invitational (NRI), presented by New, Taylor and Associates, will bring twenty-two Class AAAA, AAA, AA and A high school basketball teams from around the state to the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center for the event spanning January 3-7, 2023.
“We will have the best high school basketball talent in the state at the NRI, and our most competitive match-ups to date on the schedule,” said New River CTC Executive Director of Institutional Advancement and College Foundation Michael Green.
Games start at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with three games on the schedule for each night. On Friday games will begin at 1:30 p.m. with the Fayette County Special Olympics and the Raleigh County Special Olympics taking to the court. The action will continue Championship Saturday with games starting at 11:45 a.m.
Proceeds from the NRI support student scholarships at New River Community and Technical College and assist participating high school’s athletic departments and Project Graduation committees.
