The Maxwelton Ruritan Club recently purchased three fire hydrants for the local community on Vago Road. This project will give the local rural community access to water if the need arises. The club worked with the Frankford Fire Department and the Lewisburg Public Works Department to determine the best placement of the hydrants. Proceeds from the sale of ice cream at the State Fair of West Virginia funded the project. The goal is to install three more in the area this year, and up to 10 in the future. If you live in the Maxwelton area and are interested with helping the club purchase additional hydrants, they are currently accepting donations for future installation. You may contact 304-646-4453 or email ldbowman84@hotmail.com. The Maxwelton Ruritan Club is known for providing scholarships, giving donations, Adopt A Highway, and now possibly saving a life.
