There have now been 138 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Greenbrier County, 10 of which are active as of Monday. October 5. 129 of those infected have now recovered, while three residents have succumbed to the virus.
The statewide total of confirmed cases is 16,936. And on Tuesday, October 6, the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Services announced the deaths of three more West Virginians. Among those confirmed deceased are an 82-year old Kanawha County man, a 64-year old Cabell County woman and a 72-year old Cabell County man.
This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in West Virginia to 364.
The number of tests administered dropped considerably on Monday, October 5, with only 3,161 total laboratory tests performed. This represents the fewest amount of tests conducted over the previous seven days.
The last 24 hours has seen the identification of 194 new cases of COVID-19. The state’s cumulative positivity-rate has increased slightly to 2.76%. The daily positivity-rate has also increased by more than a full percentage-point, and is now 2.75%.
