Join the Greenbrier Historical Society for an Evening in the Cemetery. This event will bring local characters back to life at both the Old Stone Cemetery and the Dick Pointer Cemetery. Small groups will be guided through the graveyards and hear tales of local residents’ lives and deaths such as the story of Amanda Jackson, a Black woman who was born into slavery and later owned property in Lewisburg in the late 1800s or William P. Rucker, whose life was a constant contradiction.
Tours will take place on the evenings of Friday October 23, 2020, and Saturday October 24, 2020, at 6:00 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 7:00 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. Groups with a maximum size of eight will be guided through the grounds. Masks are required. $30 a person general admission, $25 for members of the Greenbrier Historical Society. If you are not currently a member of the organization for $75 receive a one-year membership and two tickets to the Evening in the Cemetery.
