LEWISBURG (WVDN) – The West Virginia Daily News is helping to feed the community this holiday season.
During the month of November, the West Virginia Daily News will be accepting non-perishable food items in our office with a goal of receiving 2,000 items to deliver to local food pantries across Greenbrier County.
I recently spoke to a local food pantry representative who told me the need is greater than ever. Some families have just enough money to pay their bills and buy their medicine which doesn’t leave much money for food. Additionally, the increased cost at the grocery store is really taking a toll on families.
They also said people really appreciate what they get from the food pantry.
Please, consider donating to the West Virginia Daily News canned food drive. We here at the Daily News will take care of getting your donation to the needy families in our community.
Just drop off your non-perishable items at 188 Foster Street in Lewisburg between now and Nov 30. Our office hours are Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., and Fridays from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
If you get your paper by carrier, you can leave your donation in your paper box on Nov. 14, 21 and 28, and your carrier will bring your donation to the office for you.
If you need any further information on making donation, please, call us at 304-645-1206.
