LEWISBURG (WVDN) – It is possible that no sports team this year at Greenbrier East has improved from game one until the present like the Spartan volleyball team.
With just one senior on this year’s roster, the present has been really good, and the future looks to be even better. There are definitely reasons to be excited for the program.
On Tuesday, Oct. 11, the Spartans went to Oak Hill and won two more matches, one over Princeton 2-0 and the other over the host, Oak Hill 2-0.
Coach Matt Sauvage is just as excited as the fans and parents.
They are truly excelling on the court,” Sauvage stated.
“This group gets along so well on and off the court, the chemistry within the game is helping tremendously,” Sauvage said.
One thing the program is doing, is preparing themselves for the postseason which is approaching quickly. The progress is exactly how the coach predicted.
“They have increased every week on the court just like we had hoped and expected. They are such a great group of coachable and talented young ladies,” Sauvage said.
