The following governmental bodies will hold public meetings this week:
The city of White Sulphur Springs will hold a series of meetings Monday evening, Sept. 12. City council will hold a workshop at 6:15 p.m.; the finance committee will meet at 6:45 p.m.; and council will meet in regular session at 7 o’clock. All meetings will be held at WSS City Hall. On the city council agenda: committee reports; officer reports; WV Region 4 PDC hazard mitigation plan update; police department employee policy; B&O tax exemption request from Schoolhouse Hotel; pedestrian bridge; and more.
The Greenbrier County Commission will meet in regular session on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at 10 a.m. in the county commission room 132 in the county courthouse. The meeting is also livestreamed from https://www.facebook.com/gbrcourthouse/. On the agenda: consider new deputy sheriff, planning department, and home confinement hires; consider Mason & Barry security contract renewal; consideration for approval request of the city of White Sulphur Springs for a contribution from funds in the Greenbrier County TIF District #1 TIF account in the amount of $180,350 to match a grant from the West Virginia Division of Highways in the amount of $1,025,400 for the Howard’s Creek pedestrian bridge project; Greenbrier County courthouse construction project; and more.
The finance committee of the city of Lewisburg will meet in regular session Tuesday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m. On the agenda: water system improvements pay request no. 3 – Resolution 499; fire department SCBA purchase approval; Lewisburg Holiday Festival request for funding; bonds for new public works building; Lafayette Street sidewalk update; Hollowell pickleball court update; and more.
