James Kermit “Jim” Holliday, 78, of Southgate, MI, formerly of Smoot, WV, passed away on July 14, 2022.
He was born on December 13, 1943 in Meadow Bluff, WV; he was the son of the late Charles Leonard Holliday and Bertha Ellen Hizer Holliday.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Charles “Bill” (1989), Ralph (2001), Clifford “Sam” (2003), Roy Lee (2013), Curtis “Carel” (2016), Ernest “Pete” (2018), and David (2020).
James was a US Army veteran and was a retired production worker from General Motors. Jim was very family oriented. He did woodworking in patriotic themes and loved antiques. He was also an avid animal lover and history buff.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dorris Jean (Simms) Holliday, Jim having passed away only three days prior to their 57TH Anniversary; daughters, Star Michelle (Holliday) Vespie and husband, Todd, and Joyce Ann Holliday. He is also survived by one brother, Neal “Leo” Holliday.
Service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Wallace & Wallace Chapel with Mr. Neal “Leo” Holliday officiating. Burial will follow the service with military graveside rites by American Legion Post # 26 of Ronceverte at Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville. Friends may visit with the family from 1 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
