Main Street White Sulphur Springs held the West Virginia Dandelion Festival Art Show at the White Sulphur Springs Public Library on Friday, May 27. Thirty-three adult entries by twelve artists were displayed at the show in nine different categories.
The following award winners were announced at the show:
Acrylics: First place: Shelby Oreolt – Dandelion Spring
Second place: Bonnie Martin – Blue Ice & Snow Gazebo
Third Place: Bonnie Martin – Deer in Wintertime
Ceramics: First place: Cecil Ybanez – Mushrooms on (big) round mason jar
Second place: Cecil Ybanez – Mushrooms on square mason jar
Third place: Cecil Ybanez – Mushrooms on round mason jar
Oils: First place & People’ Choice : Misty Murray Walkup – The Wild
Second place: Shelby Oreolt – Waiting for Peace
Third place: Kell Adwell – Waterfall
Pastels: First place: Marie M. Lewis – Winter in the Mountains
Second place: Brenda Lewis – Lavender
Third place: Marie M. Lewis – Pete

The art show accepted 31 applications from juvenile artists and received entries from several talented budding artists. The submissions were grouped together by grades. Best of show and honorable mentions are listed below.
1st – 4th grade: Kalee Walkup -Miss Christmas
5th-9th grade: Chloe Copeland – Racoon
10th-12th grade Kadie O’Dell – Freedom Flight

The White Sulphur Springs Public Library and the organizers of The West Virginia Dandelion Festival would like to thank all the sponsors and artists who made this very successful show possible. These sponsors include Em’s Cake corner, Gillespie’s Flowers, G.W. and Marie Lewis, The Greenbrier Sporting Club, Schoolhouse Hotel, Tootsie’s Place and The White Sulphur Springs Old White Garden Club.
