My name is Blaine Phillips and I am excited to be a candidate for Greenbrier County Commission. It is my belief that public service is a responsibility that we all share, and we should all be willing to contribute our time and best effort toward the wellbeing of the community in which we live.
Having lived in Greenbrier County for 63 years, I currently live in Lewisburg with my wife, Barbara. I am a 4th generation Greenbrier County resident and I have personally been through the Greenbrier County School system. I am an avid lover of everything outdoors and extremely involved within the community and local government, currently serving as Chairman of the Greenbrier Board of Zoning Appeals.
I am aware of the needs of the County, the resources available, and I am aware of the public concerns that face our community. I believe my experience as a small business owner coupled with over 40 years’ experience in the Insurance industry qualifies me to serve the members of this community with a deep understanding of business operations.
My commitment is to serve the citizens of Greenbrier County by working to improve communications within the commission and to ensure a prosperous future for Greenbrier County and its residents. I aim to be transparent, honest, and approachable. I will support public safety, encourage continued improvements of the county infrastructure, support efforts to bring Broadband to the area, and encourage new economic development while supporting our local business.
I am running to protect our area’s future for my grandchildren, Landon and Leighton, and to maintain and promote the quality of life we now enjoy in the Greenbrier Valley.
I am excited for this new chapter, and I look forward to hearing any questions, comments, or concerns you may have.
