RAINELLE (WVDN) – The Rainelle Volunteer Fire Department invites former members and the public to celebrate 80 years of motorized fire service for the town of Rainelle. The event will be held on May 28 at 1:45 p.m. at the Rainelle VFD.
In May of 1942 the town of East Rainelle purchased the first fire truck to serve the town of East Rainelle and Rainelle. Rainelle VFD will be holding a ceremony along with public displays of antique and current fire apparatus to re-dedicate the engine.
They wish to show appreciation to anyone who has been involved with keeping the truck on the road.
Displays will be from 2-4 p.m. The firehouse address is 212 James River and Kanawha Turnpike. Parking is available at the lot across from the station. Any questions can be emailed to Michael McGuire at michael.mcguire@rainellefire.com.
