WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS (WVDN) – The White Sulphur Springs Police Department gave its February report to city council during the Monday, Mar. 14, city council meeting.
Before getting the report, Mayor Bruce Bowling requested more efforts to stop unauthorized burns in city limits. He requested Police Chief Scotty Teubert put more officers on the beat.
“While I’ve got the police and firemen here, people are starting to burn things,” said Bowling. “I would like to get an officer [to see] if someone burns within the city limits, I’d like them to stop and see if they’ve got a permit.
Bowling continued, giving his guidelines.
“If they do [burn without a permit] warn them first, then the second time, issue a fine,” Bowling said. “This is ridiculous. A lot of people have asked me, I listen to them when I go to Food Lion, and I’d like to have your guys look out for that stuff.”
