LEWISBURG (WVDN) – The Route 219 and Route 60 traffic lights are in progress in Lewisburg!
The light at one of Greenbrier County’s biggest intersections has been down since an accident on Feb. 22. No one was hurt at that time, when a tractor trailer hooked the stoplight at Washington and Jefferson streets while attempting a turn.
According to Lewisburg Chief of Police Christ Tuebert, the new light post is not a permanent post, but something the city could quickly install to restore the intersection as soon as possible.
Teubert noted Tuesday morning that the light post isn’t expected to be completed by the end of the day Tuesday, but the light could be back in operation by the time Wednesday’s newspaper has gone to press.
