In a recent statement, the Summers County Sheriff’s Department announced that they are organizing a supply drop for the victims of the devastating Kentucky tornados. Officers are asking for the public’s help in gathering the supplies needed.
According to the statement, the department is collecting multiple types of items. This includes non-perishable food items, hand-operated can openers, personal care items, cleaning supplies, household items and new children’s toys as well as new, unopened underwear and socks.
Each of these categories has a wide variety of potential items. For example, when donating “personal care items,” consider shaving cream and razors, hairbrushes or combs, feminine care products, shampoo/conditioner, soap, or tooth care items. For “household items” some possibilities included bedding, dishes, cookware, towels and so much more.
The Sheriff’s Department is collecting items from Tuesday, Dec 14 through Friday, Dec. 17. They ask that items be dropped off at the Sheriff’s Department during regular office hours.
