As this week officially kicks off the holiday season. We have started our Penny Pitch campaign for this Christmas season. We need to reach our goal of $65,000.00 by Christmas and we need your help. We are running way behind where we were last year with donations, however all of the applications are in and are being processed and interviewed.
Several people are inquiring about how and where to donate this year. You can mail your donation to Penny Pitch, P.O. Box 494, Lewisburg, W.V. 24901. You can also drop your donation off to City National Bank. If you want to do a cash or check donation, they will accept the donation and write what you want on the donation to be printed in the paper. We will be picking up donations daily as needed at City National Bank. I also remind you again, The Daily News is not accepting donations this year for Penny Pitch, so you need to mail it or drop it by either City Bank Lewisburg location.
We have a lot of families in our area needing help this year for Christmas, to provide toys for their children, and clothing. Most parents are having a hard time paying for utilities and putting gas in their vehicles to get to their jobs and there’s no money left for toys. That’s where Penny Pitch can help these families, with your monetary donation. All of the donations stay in our local area and help local families.
Applications are being given out to The Rotary Clubs, and Eastern Greenbrier Jaycees, and the Smoot Ruritan Club to start interviews for families that have applied for help. After each family is interviewed, the Penny Pitch team will meet and determine who will get help based on the information by the interview teams. Families awarded help from Penny Pitch will be given an amount they can spend at Wal-Mart on the items they specified that their children needs, each family will also be given a food box.
Penny Pitch is a non-profit organization, all of the people who help with Penny Pitch are volunteers, no one is paid. All of the money donated goes back in the area to help local children. We need your help to put a present under the tree for local children this year.
Please send your donation to Penny Pitch, P.O. Box 494, Lewisburg, W.V. 24901.or drop your donation by City National Bank Lewisburg locations, You can also drop in by the drive through if that is more convenient for you.
