MARTIN
Goldie Marie Richmond Martin, 89, of Talcott went home to be with the Lord Monday, November 8, 2021 at her daughter’s house following a short illness.
Born August 3, 1932 in Summers County, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Gladys Cox Richmond.
Goldie enjoyed playing rummy and corn hole. Her smile and kindness will always be remembered, along with her famous Mamaw’s biscuits.
Goldie was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, William (Bill) Martin; a daughter, Rebecca Harris; special grandson, Ryan Dodd; sister, Shirley Hiser and husband, Charles; brothers, Jimmy, Richard, Freddie, and Junior Richmond.
Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Joyce Ewing (Joe) of Hinton; two grandsons, Christopher Harris of Hinton and Brandon Ewing (Erica) of Port Saint Lucie, FL; a special great-granddaughter, LucieRose Marie Ewing of Florida; one sister, Orah Honaker of Alderson; two brothers, Eddie (Pat) Richmond and Donald (Gloria) Richmond both of Ohio; one special sister-in-law, Suzanne Richmond of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to Brianna, Goldie’s nurse at ARH, along with all of the doctors and staff at ARH and Hospice of Southern WV for the kind and loving care given to Goldie.
Funeral services were 12 p.m. Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial followed in the Keller Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Friends could call from 11 a.m. until time of services at the funeral parlors.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
