November Observances This Week: November 13 is World Kindness Day; November 14 is National American Teddy Bear Day; November 15 is America Recycles Day; November 16 is International Day for Tolerance; November 17 is World Peace Day; November 18 is Apple Cider Day; November 19 is Equal Opportunity day; November 20 is Family Volunteer Day; and November 21 World Hello Day.
Well, nothing says November like hunting, turkey, thanksgiving, acorns, pumpkins, fall colors and family! We are also a little closer to being in that turkey coma. With that being said there are a few events that may interest some readers. Saturday, November 13, the GFWC WV Rupert Woman’s Club will be sponsoring an Arts & Crafts Fair at the Rupert Community Building beginning at 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Hand-made items will be available for your holiday giving, as well as, home-made baked goods for your Thanksgiving feasts. Tables for vendors are still available at $15.00, contact Sandi Davison (304-392-5502) to reserve a table–you keep your profits. Beginning at 11 a.m. Hot Dogs ($1.50) and BBQs ($3.00) will be available for eat-in or take out, call in your take-out orders to 304-419-0286. Saturday, November 20, the Rupert Public Library will be hosting the “Hidden Mountain Treasures” band from 3 – 5 p.m. with light refreshments being served.

A few brushes – large flat or round, medium, square or round and a small detailed brush. Bring a water cup and paper towel as well. You are free to buy supplies anywhere you want, any brand will work.
Noteworthy News: ° On Saturday, November 13, the Sweet Springs Resort Park is planning the 2021 Historical Tour of the famous park. This will be a complete historical tour about all the buildings and the history of each. To make the day even more interesting and fun, roasted hot dogs, marshmallows and all the “fixens” will be offered before the tour. There will be games for children. If it is rainy or extremely cold, the “roasting” will be in the main hotel. The cost is $25 per adult, $7.50 per young adult 12-17 and free for children less than 12 years of age. Special rates are available for groups of 15 or more persons. Food begins at 10:30 a.m. Tour begins at 1 p.m. ° The Renick Community Center will be hosting a fall/holiday festival on Saturday, Nov. 13, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Baked goods, food, local handmade crafts and yard sale. No setup fee but please send message to Facebook page if you are interested in setting up. Event will be held outdoors, rain or shine.
