West Volleyball Takes Two On The Road

West Union – The Greenbrier West Cavaliers volleyball squad improved to 15-7 on the season with a tri-match sweep of host Doddridge County (25-23, 25-15) and co-visitors Clay-Battelle (25-11, 25-9) on Tuesday night. Trailing twice in set one to the Bulldogs, the Lady Cavaliers would come back from a three-point deficit to take the lead on the strength of Desteney Walker’s serves to win 25-23. In set two, the Lady Cavaliers got their bearings and never trailed, defeating Doddridge 25-15. Kenzie O’Dell – 1 ace, 7 kills, 2 blocks; Kadie O’Dell – 3 kills; Michaela Alley – 1 block; Preslee Treadway – 4 kills; Meagan Poticher – 2 kills; Riley Robertson – 1 ace; Megan Griffith – 2 aces

In the second match, the Lady Cavaliers overpowered the Cee-Bees. Trailing by two, Walker once again went on an 8-point tear to pull away in set one. Greenbrier West never trailed in set two, winning 25-9 going away. Brooke Nutter – 2 aces, 3 kills; Kenzie O’Dell – 9 kills, 1 block; Kadie O’Dell – 5 kills; Michaela Alley – 1 kill; Preslee Treadway – 2 kills; Meagan Poticher – 2 kills, 1 block; Desteney Walker – 4 aces; Natalie Agee – 1 kill

The Lady Cavaliers, ranked #6 in the latest Class A maxpreps.com volleyball rankings, travel to Meadow Bridge on Thursday, October 21, at 6 p.m.
