OCTOBER 19, 2021 UPDATE The Greater Greenbrier COVID-19 Task Force met Via conference call and reports the following information.
Greenbrier County Health Department: We currently have 3242 confirmed cases, 1551 probable, 3 suspect, 4573 recovered, 133 current active cases, 5 hospitalized, and 90 deaths. We are orange on the state map.
Booster Doses: The health department is giving booster COVID-19 doses Wednesdays and Fridays to eligible citizens. Call to schedule an appointment.
Free, no appointment needed COVID-19 testing is still available at the State Fair parking area from 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday, 1 p.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Greenbrier County Schools: Masks continue to be required for all students, staff, and visitors indoors based on the current orange status of Greenbrier County on the state COVID-19 map.
Greenbrier Valley Medical Center: We have three patients in the COVID unit, three in the ICU, with two of those on ventilators. Limited visitation continues. The tailgate trunk or treat is canceled.
Robert C. Byrd Clinic: Monoclonal antibody treatment, COVID-19 vaccines and testing, and flu vaccines are all available. Call to make an appointment.
Rainelle Medical Center: We continue to offer COVID-19 vaccinations, flu vaccinations, and monoclonal antibody treatments. Free COVID-19 testing times: Monday: 10 a.m.-12 p.m. & 1-4 p.m., Tuesday: 10 a.m.-12 p.m. only, Wednesday: 10 a.m.-12 p.m. & 1-4 p.m., Thursday: 10 a.m.-12 p.m., and Friday: 10 a.m.-12 p.m. COVID-19 vaccination days: Tuesday: 1-4 p.m., Thursday: all day. We will also be giving flu vaccines as well and walk-ins are welcome. Booster doses are available. We have a limited supply of the antibody treatments. Call to schedule that treatment.
