A Greenbrier County man was arrested on the morning of Saturday, September 11 in relation to an incident that occurred on August 8. Andrew Allen Arnold, 34, of White Sulphur Springs has been charged with obstructing an officer and domestic battery.
On the afternoon of Sunday, August 8, officers from the White Sulphur Springs Police Department responded to a residence on Ingleside Avenue to investigate reports of a domestic altercation in progress. Upon their arrival, officers report hearing “a bunch of yelling going on.”
As stated in the criminal complaint, upon seeing law enforcement, the accused, Andrew Allen Arnold, attempted to retreat “to the farthest back bedroom of the house.”
Officers report ordering Arnold to the floor with his hands behind his back several times. However, Arnold allegedly refused to comply with the officers’ commands.
According to the officers, “I then pulled my department issued taser out and advised Arnold to get on the floor again or he would be tased. Mr. Arnold then complied with my commands and I was able to place him in handcuffs.”
Once Arnold had been taken into custody, officers were able to speak with the complainant.
According to the criminal complaint, the complainant stated “she came home to her bedroom door broke and Mr. Allen breaking her things in her room. She went on to state that she told him to get out and then he kicked her and also took her picture frames off her wall and threw them at her.”
Andrew Allen Arnold is currently being held at Southern Regional Jail on a total cash/surety of $6,000.
