LOGAN, W.Va. (WVDN) – State Treasurer Larry Pack was in Logan on Friday where he presented more than $1,300 in unclaimed property funds to the Logan County Commission.
“County commissions play an essential role in the day-to-day lives of the people they serve, from supporting public safety and infrastructure to providing critical services that keep communities strong,” Treasurer Pack said. “We are proud to return this money to the Logan County Commission. Every dollar we return to local government is money that we can put back to work for the taxpayers, and we will continue working to make sure these funds are back where they belong.”
Treasurer Pack presented $1,331.52 to the Logan County Commission on Friday morning. The money came from credit balances and a utility refund.
“This is a great day. It’s astounding how much money ends up with West Virginia Treasury. Folks should spend a few moments of their time to check and see if they have unclaimed funds. We didn’t have any idea about it and worked with the State Treasurer’s Office to get this,” Logan County Commissioner Billy Dickerson said.
In July, Treasurer Pack announced his Office’s Unclaimed Property Division returned nearly $40.2 million worth of unclaimed property funds to individuals, businesses and organizations during Fiscal Year 2026. Last month, Treasurer Pack announced his Office returned more than $1.3 million.
The State Treasurer’s Office has more than $527 million worth of listings in its database statewide. There are more than 70,000 unclaimed property listings worth more than $7.4 million in Logan County.
