AIR QUALITY PERMIT NOTICE
Notice of Application
Notice is given that Battle Creek Inc. has applied to the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Air Quality, for a General Permit Registration for a rock crushing facility located off Shoestring Trail and Friars Hull Road at the Blue Knob Surface Mine, near Blue Knob in Greenbrier County, West Virginia. The coordinates for the facility are: latitude 38.126608 and longitude -80.487262.
The applicant estimates the potential to discharge the following Regulated Air Pollutants from operations will be: Controlled particulate matter emissions of 188 tons per year (TPY), of which 188 TPY are fugitive; controlled particulate matter less than 10 micron emissions of 39 TPY, of which 39 TPY are fugitive. The potential to discharge criteria pollutants from the burning of diesel fuel are estimated to be: NOx 0.0.98878 tons per year; CO 8.65185 tons per year; SOx 3.11572 tons per year; PM10 0.04944 tons per year; VOC 1.3613tons per year. The total hazardous air pollutants from the burning of diesel fuel are estimated to be 0.0.04345 tons per year.
Construction and operation is planned to begin upon permit approval. Written comments will be received by the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Air Quality, 601 57th Street, SE, Charleston, WV 25304, for at least 30 calendar days from the date of publication of this notice.
