CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WVDN) – Governor Patrick Morrisey released the following statement after Ritchie and Pleasants counties were approved for federal Individual Assistance following the severe storms, flooding, and tornadoes that struck West Virginia beginning July 21:
Ritchie and Pleasants counties have now been approved for federal Individual Assistance following the severe storms, flooding, and tornadoes that struck West Virginia beginning July 21, joining Lewis and Upshur counties.
This assistance will help eligible homeowners and renters with the costs of recovering and rebuilding after these devastating storms.
FEMA remains on the ground conducting damage assessments, and additional information from impacted counties continues to be reviewed. We will keep working with our federal partners and fighting to make sure every eligible West Virginia community receives the assistance it needs to recover.
There is still a long road ahead, but we will continue standing with these communities every step of the way.
