The West Virginia Daily News is growing. The information you rely on each day will be spread wider than ever before with increased online coverage and a wider distribution area.
As of Monday, Oct. 4, home delivery of the newspaper will be available in Quinwood, Rupert, Rainelle and other areas of western Greenbrier County. This means more coverage of news, sports and events that happen each day in the Meadow River Valley (MRV) and beyond.
Drawing the world’s attention to occurrences in MRV and southern West Virginia, the WVDN website brings even more up-to-date information to your fingertips. This will allow people living in the Greenbrier Valley, West Virginia residents, Mountain State natives and West Virginians-at-heart to stay informed no matter where they live.
Knowledge can be gained quicker and stories shared any time day or night using the WVDN digital services and social media sites. Because, let’s face it, news happens in the blink of an eye, and how you receive that news should occur just as quickly.
Breaking news, weekend events, scores and recaps on local team activity will all be captured by the incredible reporters within the WVDN family, the only difference — readers won’t necessarily have to wait for the printed version. However, shifting focus from one format to the other comes with a minor compromise between WVDN staff and newspaper readership.
Starting on Monday, Oct. 4, the printed newspaper will be published Monday, Wednesday and Friday only. A PDF version of Monday through Friday newspapers will still be available to view online.
To fill in the gap on Tuesdays and Thursdays, an emailed newsletter is in the works. WVDN is seeking community thoughts, ideas, and wishes for what that newsletter would look like to best serve the community. Send newsletter tips and other input to hello@wvdn.com.
In the meantime, become familiar with WVDN.com. There are a number of subscription options including a free one that provides access to 10 articles per month. Following and receiving notifications from WVDN’s Facebook page also alerts you to the latest happenings. WVDN has served the Greenbrier Valley in one form or another since 1852, and we remain excited to serve that area and more as our team evolves with the expanding technological world. Join us in this growth process.
