LEWISBURG- Every community needs a place to educate and demonstrate its skills. Thanks to Tricia Hoover and staff at The Learning Hub & Event Center, Greenbrier County has one to be proud of.
A longstanding member of the community, realtor, and full-time professor at New River Community and Technical College, Tricia’s experience in communication and teaching is put to good use through this project. She describes herself as having, “a heart for lifelong learning.”
The Learning Hub has much to offer, from tutoring to nostalgic arcade games like air hockey and skee ball. “This space is great for any event, from corporate training to a kid’s birthday party,” Tricia says—the list of possibilities is endless.
Community members interested in hosting personal events such as birthday parties, bridal showers, baby showers, and engagement parties will find this space useful, but the utility doesn’t stop there. The space features a large event room, a toddler room for younger children, and a gaming room including Skee Ball, Hoop Shoot, Foos Ball, Air Hockey, Corn Hole, and other vintage arcade games. A kitchen is also available for use with rent, and visitors are welcome to bring in their own food. Optional additions include a 6ft bouncy house. However, this space can easily be converted into a professional setting for all needs.
“I hope to impact the community by providing a safe place for people to be creative, learn, and have fun!” Tricia says. The staff will plan community events in their efforts to bring the community together. Tricia asks that citizens reach out if they have ideas for events they would like to see in the area.
The Learning Hub will host a flea market August 14th – 22nd, 10am to 6pm. The market will include concessions, reasonably priced food, and air conditioning.
The Learning Hub and Event Center can be found at 316 Maplewood Ave Suite 4 in Lewisburg, or the front door right next to the local DMV. Summer hours are open by appointment.
