FAIRLEA- Jared Patton, the coach of the Greenbrier East Spartans men’s basketball team decided this past season would be his last and recently resigned.

Patton led the Spartans to some big wins during his tenure including this year’s regional victory over the Capital Cougars, a game that garnered statewide attention due to some seedings within the region.

Greenbrier East Athletic Director Joey Hodge released the following statement on Patton:

Greenbrier East High School and Athletic Director, Joey Hodge, would like to express our gratitude to Coach Patton for his dedication and commitment to our student-athletes and men’s basketball program.

His investment in the lives of our players and the countless hours he has given to Greenbrier East Basketball have made a lasting impact. We thank Coach Patton for his service to the Spartan Family and wish him and his family nothing but joy in their next season.

As we move forward, we are excited about the future of Greenbrier East Men’s Basketball. The search for our next head coach will begin immediately as we seek a leader who shares our commitment to excellence, character, and the development of our student-athletes both on and off the court.
Greenbrier East has a proud basketball tradition and is committed to finding a candidate who is eager to build upon that foundation.

We look forward to welcoming a new leader who will inspire our student-athletes and help elevate Greenbrier East Men’s Basketball to new levels of success.

Most of all, we appreciate the continued support of our students, families, alumni, and the entire Greenbrier East Spartans community as we begin this exciting new chapter.

Go Spartans!
