LEWISBURG- The West Virginia Daily News and Greenbrier Independent are pleased to welcome Katherine Collins to the team as a reporter and weather contributor.

Originally from North Carolina, Collins recently relocated to Lewisburg with her family after spending the past 12 years in Bluefield, West Virginia, where she worked as a broadcast meteorologist in local television. A graduate of North Carolina State University, she earned degrees in Meteorology and History before beginning her career in broadcasting.

Now settled in the Greenbrier Valley with her family, Collins is looking forward to continuing to provide weather forecasting for the region while also sharing the stories that make local communities unique.

“We are excited to have Katherine join our team,” said Editor, Brandon Baker. “She will be a very familiar face to everyone and her daily experience in television, knowledge of weather, and passion for community storytelling will make her a great addition to our publication.”

In addition to her professional experience, Collins enjoys exploring the outdoors. She spends much of her free time hiking and enjoying the Greenbrier River with her husband and two young children.

As she begins her new role with the West Virginia Daily News and Greenbrier Independent, Collins looks forward to connecting with residents throughout the Greenbrier Valley and highlighting the people, events, and issues that matter most to the community.
