GREENBRIER COUNTY- A Ronceverte man has been formally indicted in connection with the September 2025 death of a woman in Ronceverte.
According to court records, a Greenbrier County grand jury returned an indictment last Wednesday charging 42-year-old Michael E. Loudermilk Jr. with one count of first-degree murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Sept. 3, 2025, at a residence on Morgan Cemetery Road. Investigators say 36-year-old Quailynn Bass, a Florida resident who was determined to be Loudermilk’s girlfriend, was found dead inside the home after suffering devastating injuries.
The attempted murder charge involves Loudermilk’s uncle, Brian Loudermilk, who was discovered outside the residence. The indictment alleges he was assaulted with a baseball bat, had one of his thumbs bitten off, and suffered injuries from an apparent attempt to gouge his eyes.
Deputies with the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office responded to the residence after receiving a report of a disturbance. Authorities reported seeing a man leave the scene who was later identified as Michael Loudermilk.
Following an investigation, Loudermilk was arrested.
The indictment alleges the attacks were intentional and carried out with malice.
