Hey there and welcome back. I hope you are finding ways to beat the heat because it has been beyond hot lately. This week I’m bringing you two easy jar salads, so pour a cold drink and hot this down.
These salads are so easy and great for beating the heat and keeping your kitchen cool. For the first salad grab a mason jar – whatever size you want and put some dressing in the bottom. Then put the meat of your choice or you can leave meat out. I often buy frozen diced chicken and thaw it in the microwave for these salads.
Next add your veggies. I like cucumbers, some cherry tomatoes, some of those little fried onions and lettuce. It’s fun to do this in layers and remember we eat with our eyes first. You could add fruit or nuts – really whatever your heart desires. The best part is when you are ready to eat your salad you just shake it up and eat it from the jar!!
The next salad is one that I love and feel in my soul!! I think this salad is best in a smaller jar because a little goes a long way. For this salad you will need:
small mozzarella balls in oil
Large black olives
Large green olives
And salami diced into cubes
Layer each of the ingredients in the jar – twice if you can. Then take some of the oil and spices from the mozzarella balls and drizzle in the jar and shake up – I have also used a Greek vinaigrette dressing. Then shake it up and eat!
So there you have it friends. You can make these your own by changing ingredients up to fit your family’s likes, but no matter what you do make it your own and as always I’m sending love from my kitchen to yours!
