LEWISBURG, WV — Greenbrier County Prosecuting Attorney Nicole G. Campbell, announced that John F. Willis, III, 56, of Greenbrier County, has been sentenced to prison following convictions for multiple felony sexual abuse offenses.

Willis previously pleaded guilty to three counts of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree. On May 26, 2026, he was sentenced to consecutive prison terms of one to five years on each count, along with $30,000 in criminal fines, court costs, and full restitution for the victim’s medical and psychological treatment.

In addition to his prison sentence, Willis will remain on extended supervised release for 50 years following his release from custody. Conditions include strict prohibitions on contact with minors, geographic restrictions near schools and playgrounds, mandatory sex offender treatment, random testing, and intensive monitoring of any approved electronic devices.

Willis was remanded to the custody of the West Virginia Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation following sentencing.

Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Ryan R. Blake represented the State of West Virginia throughout the proceedings, and the investigation was conducted by Lt. Hudnall of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department.
