The 5th Annual Big Wheel Bash, featuring a Low Country Boil and sponsored by the State Fair of West Virginia, will take place Saturday, June 13, at 6:30 p.m. in the Artisan Barn. The event raises funds for the State Fair of West Virginia Endowed Scholarship Program, which has awarded more than $500,000 in scholarships to West Virginia students pursuing higher education.

Supported by the State Fair Endowment Fund, corporate sponsors, and individual donors, the program currently provides six scholarships of $1,000 per year for up to four years for students attending college or trade school. Each year, the endowment contributes more than $20,000 to support these awards.

Guests will enjoy a Low Country Boil, drinks, raffles, dancing, and both live and silent auctions. Many of the auction items are tied to the fair.

Raffles: Only 54 tickets will be sold at $100 each for a chance to win a dinner for eight prepared by Chef Everett O’Flaherty, either in your home or at Swift Level Farm in Lewisburg.

A second raffle will offer a basket of items and gift certificates from fair vendors, with tickets available for $20.

Some of the auction items include:

Hand-blown glass pieces by the fair’s glassblower

A reserved beer garden table during the fair

A three-night stay at Kathy’s Farm Manor House in the Lewisburg area (7 bedrooms, sleeps 15)

A Gold Lot one-year pass for reserved parking during the fair

A Platinum Lot one-year pass for reserved parking during the fair

A lifetime entrance pass to the fair

A Wild Trails Festival VIP pass

A fishing trip

A boar hunt

A quilt made by Sherry Dawson

A permanent jewelry party hosted by Mindy Seldomridge

A photo shoot with Erin Hurst

A painting by Margaret Tomlinson

And more

BWB attire is country-style red, white, and blue. Tickets are $100, and sponsorships are also available, including table sponsorships for groups of friends. To purchase tickets or view sponsorship levels, visit the fair website at statefairofwv.com or call 304-645-1090.
