WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS- A domestic disturbance in White Sulphur Springs on Friday night led to the arrest of a Greenbrier County man on a charge of domestic assault, according to a criminal complaint filed in Greenbrier County Magistrate Court.
Police said officers with the White Sulphur Springs Police Department were dispatched to an apartment on Gum Street at approximately 10:07 p.m. on May 22, 2026, after Greenbrier County 911 received a report of a domestic incident in progress. When officers arrived, they encountered Bryson Shawn Hintersteiner outside the residence along with a juvenile female.
According to the complaint, officers spoke with multiple individuals at the scene who reported that an argument had escalated inside the home. Investigators stated that a juvenile told police a phone had been taken during the dispute before being forcibly grabbed back. Officers later spoke with another individual involved, Gabrielle Workman, who was reportedly visibly upset and shaking while describing the incident.
The complaint states Workman provided officers with a video recording that allegedly showed Hintersteiner yelling and acting aggressively inside the residence. After reviewing the video and conducting interviews, officers determined there was probable cause to arrest Hintersteiner on a domestic assault charge.
The complaint also notes that police had previously responded to the residence multiple times for disturbance and domestic-related calls since January.
The case remains pending in Greenbrier County Magistrate Court.
