Calhoun County, W.Va. (WVDN) — On September 3, 2025, Corporal Schoolcraft began an investigation into a Calhoun County elementary school teacher who is also a County Commissioner, for alleged sexual abuse of a juvenile.
On September 13, 2025, Jacob McCumbers, 35, of Arnoldsburg, was arrested on fifty (50) counts of child sexual abuse by Parent or Custodian. Mr. McCumbers was arraigned by a Calhoun County Magistrate and released on a $100,000 surety bond.
On May 13, 2026, Corporal Schoolcraft indicted Mr. McCumbers through a Calhoun County Grand Jury. Mr. McCumbers was indicted on 172 Counts of Sexual Abuse 1st Degree and 86 counts of Sexual Abuse by Parent/ Guardian.
