Lewisburg, WV (May 13, 2026) – Greenbrier County Schools has been selected as the recipient of the Explore: The New Manufacturing – Outstanding Industry Educator Award.

The award celebrates educators and school systems that make a lasting impact on students by connecting classroom learning to real-world manufacturing experiences. Recipients are recognized for going above and beyond to support, guide, and inspire students while building meaningful partnerships between education and industry.

Greenbrier County Schools is especially proud to be the first school system in West Virginia to receive this award, highlighting the county’s leadership in preparing students for modern career opportunities.

“This recognition is a powerful reflection of the innovative work happening across our schools to prepare students for high-demand, high-skill careers,” said Superintendent Jeff Bryant. “Our educators—especially those in our Career and Technical Education programs—are creating meaningful, hands-on experiences that connect learning to real opportunities, while building strong partnerships with local businesses and industry. We are incredibly proud of the pathways being created for our students and honored to be recognized for this important work.”

The region has strengthened its efforts through collaboration with key partners, including Explore the New Manufacturing, the Greenbrier Valley Economic Development Corporation, the Greater Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce, The Education Alliance, and numerous business and community organizations.

“Greenbrier County Schools exemplifies what it means to connect education with industry in meaningful and impactful ways,” said Monica Cross, Executive Director of Explore the New Manufacturing. “Their commitment to student success, workforce readiness, and community partnerships makes them a model for others across the state. We are thrilled to recognize them as the first Mountain State school system to receive this award.”

Through innovative programming and strong community partnerships, Greenbrier County Schools continues to expand opportunities for students to explore careers in manufacturing and develop the skills needed for success in today’s workforce.
