MAXWELTON, W.Va. (WVDN) – The Maxwelton Ruritan Club released the following report on its recent meeting.

We had the pleasure last night to welcome Lynda Ambler, co-chair of the Greenbrier East High School 2026 Project Graduation, to our meeting. Since 1988, the Seniors at GEHS have celebrated graduation with an all-night party at the school. Parents love it because it’s an alcohol- and drug-free experience, and students love it for all the food, games, and prizes. This year’s top prize is $2,026.00. The club made a donation to help with the expenses, such as food and prizes that are not donated.  The members also voted to donate to GEHS HOSA to help cover the expenses of a competition trip in June.

The Maxwelton Community Yard Sale will be held on Saturday, May 16, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Henning Church of God will be selling baked goods beginning at 8 a.m., along with their yard sale items. Resurrected Life Church will also be holding a yard sale on that day. The public is invited to follow the Maxwelton Community page on Facebook to find specific locations.

Road cleanup on Monday, April 20, netted 14 bags of trash with eight members volunteering. The Maxwelton Ruritan Club is currently seeking new members. If you are interested, please email ldbowman84@hotmail.com and follow the Maxwelton Ruritan Club on Facebook.
