UNION W.Va. (WVDN) – State Senator Vince Deeds recently presented a $15,000 grant to Union Little League, supporting ongoing improvements to the community ballpark. The funding will be used to upgrade playground equipment and install new picnic tables, enhancing the experience for players, families and visitors alike.

In a strong example of community collaboration, the new picnic tables will be built by students in the vocational program at James Monroe High School, giving students hands-on experience while contributing directly to a local cause.

League officials emphasized the importance of keeping investments within the community, noting that the project reflects a “locals supporting locals” approach that continues to strengthen the area both on and off the field.

League representatives also expressed their sincere gratitude to Senator Deeds and all sponsors for their continued support, noting that projects like this would not be possible without their generosity and commitment to the community.
