Elkins, W.Va., (WVDN) —The Monongahela National Forest’s Visitor Centers will be opening Thursday, April 16, 2026. You can view the Visitor Center opening dates as well as other recreational opportunities at: https://www.fs.usda.gov/r09/monongahela/recreation. The Forest’s alerts webpage will also have additional information on specific locations and opening dates. Local conditions can affect dates, please check the web often for updates.
The opening times for the Visitor Centers are as follows:
Cranberry Mountain Nature Center:
Sunday – 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday – 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Tuesday and Wednesday – CLOSED
Seneca Rocks Discovery Center:
Thursday through Monday- 0930 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.
Tuesday and Wednesday- CLOSED
