LEWISBURG W.Va. (WVDN) – Carnegie Hall invites craft enthusiasts, Renaissance Fair fans, and lovers of handmade artistry to join a special Appalachian Heritage workshop on Saturday, May 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Led by leather artisan Luke Davis, this hands‑on class gives students the opportunity to design and create their own custom foraging pouch or belt bag – perfect for festival wear, costuming, or everyday use.
Limited to 8 participants, the workshop offers personalized instruction as students learn to cut, stamp, carve, and assemble naturally dyed leather using a wide selection of tools provided by the instructor. Whether crafting a rugged foraging pouch or a stylish belt bag, each participant will leave with a one‑of‑a‑kind piece of wearable art that blends traditional techniques with imaginative design.
This class is ideal for beginners and returning students alike. Ages 12 and older are welcome. Cost: $75 for members and $85 for nonmembers.
As part of Carnegie Hall’s Appalachian Heritage programming, this workshop celebrates the region’s rich craft traditions while encouraging creativity, skill‑building, and hands‑on learning.
