LEWISBURG, W.Va. (WVDN) — Robert C. Byrd Clinic’s (RCBC) Diabetes Education and Lifestyle Medicine (DELM) program has successfully maintained its accreditation through the Diabetes Education Accreditation Program (DEAP), reaffirming its commitment to providing high-quality diabetes education and support services to the Greenbrier Valley community.

The accreditation, awarded by the Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists (ADCES), recognizes the DELM program for meeting rigorous national standards in patient care, safety, and ongoing quality improvement. This annual status report approval confirms the program remains in good standing as part of its five-year reaccreditation cycle.

DEAP accreditation signifies that a healthcare provider has demonstrated excellence in diabetes education through comprehensive documentation, periodic audits, and continuous evaluation of program effectiveness. Robert C. Byrd Clinic’s DELM program focuses on helping patients build practical skills in areas such as nutrition, physical activity, medication management, and long-term lifestyle changes.

Offered as part of RCBC’s broader commitment to preventive care and wellness, the program integrates lifestyle medicine approaches to support sustainable health outcomes for patients living with diabetes.
