LUBBOCK, TX (WVDN)- Seventeenth ranked West Virginia rebounded from a game two loss on Saturday to win the series against the Texas Tech Red Raiders, 10-2 on Sunday, April 12.
Starting pitcher Chansen Cole went eight innings, allowed just seven hits, two runs, and struck out four. Making the outing even more impressive is that Texas Tech (20-15) has the nation’s top ranked offense.
Sean Smith went 4-5 for the Mountaineers at the plate with two RBI and two runs scored. Six other Mountaineers had at least two hits.
West Virginia got three runs in the first two innings and then the offense stalled until the eighth frame when they scored three, and the ninth, when they capped the day with four more.
WVU (24-8) ended the game with 18 hits.
