CHARLESTON W.Va. (WVDN) – Customers of Monongahela Power Co. and The Potomac Edison Co. should see a decrease in rates after the Public Service Commission of West Virginia approved a reduction in charges for the companies’ vegetation management control program.
“Under the companies’ proposal, an average residential customer using 1,000 kilowatt-hours per month would see a decrease of $0.23 per month, or 0.17 percent,” the order said. The average monthly bill would total $137.43. The decreased rates were effective immediately.
The order, which results from a company filing last August 29, reconciles charges with costs.
