Charleston, W.Va. (WVDN) — The West Virginia State Medical Political Action Committee (WESPAC) announced its endorsed candidates for the 2026 West Virginia Primary Election, reaffirming its commitment to advancing patient-centered care and supporting policies that strengthen the physician-led healthcare system across the Mountain State. WESPAC serves as the unified advocacy arm of West Virginia’s physician community and supports candidates, regardless of political party, who demonstrate a clear commitment to improving healthcare access, protecting patient safety, and ensuring high-quality medical care for all West Virginians.

The endorsement process is guided by a thorough review of candidates’ public records, prior legislative actions when applicable, and direct engagement on key healthcare issues. WESPAC prioritizes individuals who align with physician and patient priorities, including preserving physician-led, team-based care, maintaining high standards of quality and safety, expanding access to care in rural and underserved communities, supporting public health and preventive services, and advancing fair, sustainable healthcare policy.

The 2026 endorsed candidate slate reflects a diverse group of leaders dedicated to advancing policies that benefit patients, physicians, and communities throughout West Virginia. WESPAC encourages physicians and healthcare stakeholders to remain engaged throughout the election cycle and to support efforts that promote safe, high-quality, and accessible care.

WESPAC is a non-partisan political action committee representing the collective voice of West Virginia physicians in the political process and is committed to advancing sound healthcare policy that protects patients and strengthens the medical profession.
