Fairmont, W.Va. (WVDN) — On Monday, Feb. 16, at approximately 1:22 p.m., Trooper T.R. Goodnight and members of the West Virginia State Police Fairmont Detachment responded to a motor vehicle crash on Interstate 79, southbound at the 139-mile marker.
The victim, who was operating a 1995 Ford F-250 southbound, traveled over the left fog line and struck a safety barrier. The vehicle then crossed the passing lane and entered the right-hand lane, where it collided with a tractor-trailer.
The victim, David Pardue, 47, of Burnsville, WV, was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
The investigation is ongoing.
